Project HANSEBLOC

Hanseatic blockchain innovations for logistics and supply chain management

HANSEBLOC is a small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)centered research and development (R&D) project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for testing and developing blockchain solutions in the logistics context.

Project period: April 2018 – June 2021. Funding program: The project is co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the program “Promotion of strategic SME innovation alliances in networks and clusters” (KMU-NetC) “KMU-NetC” is part of the concept “Right of way for SMEs – The BMBF’s Ten-Point Program for more innovation in SMEs”. Further, project results will be published on the HANSEBLOC.net website after the project is completed.

The HANSEBLOC consortium consists of a total of ten northern German partners from the Logistics Initiative Hamburg network. SHOT LOGISTICS GMBH is one of the logistics service providers/ freight forwarders involved in the project. A challenge in the transport and logistics area is to make data transmission counterfeit-proof. So far, transport accompanying documents, Bills of Lading and customs documents for all parties involved in the transport are still exchanged in paper format, via e-mail, cloud services or online freight handling platforms. In accordance with Project HANSEBLOC, sustainable solutions are now to be found using blockchain technology. As an industry and practical partner, SHOT LOGISTICS is right on the centrefield -not the sidelines of this future-oriented blockchain / distributed ledger technology (DLT) joint project HANSEBLOC.
